Daily 5 and CAFE Quick Start

Gail and Allison share their expertise in an atmosphere of open inquiry, research-based practice, and fun.

Their working partnership is grounded in a mutual love for teaching, reading, and lifelong learning. Gail is an award-winning literacy expert, co-author of The Daily 5 (both editions) and The CAFE Book, and author of many professional development materials. Allison joined The Daily CAFE team as an expert practitioner of Daily 5 and CAFE, and is now a major contributor to practice innovations, and the co-author of The CAFE Book, second edition.

Suzanne is the facilitator of this course and other Daily CAFE courses. You will also frequently see her name on The Daily CAFE discussion board as she spends time reading and responding to the questions and comments.

Her teaching career has included most elementary grades and High School Reading. She now is reading specialist/literacy coach, and enjoys working with both the kids and teachers.

Suzanne has also taught at the university level and conducted professional development for teachers. Although now living in south Texas, her master's degree is from Indiana University as a Reading Specialist, and she's a Hoosier at heart and a basketball fan through and through.
